I almost bought the cans made with refillable tops but they want between 30 and 50 plus dollars for one can! Or you could go to family dollar and buy their brand for 3.00 that works as good if not better than greedy wd40.

On our Nitro.. We were getting the lightening bolt symbol randomly, and it would actually put it into limp mode and keep it under like 3k or 4k RPM. But if I cycled the key it would go away. Turns out that the water pump was just bad and it was sensing overheating I guess and going into limp mode... Even though the temp gauge still looked fine on the dash. I put in a new water pump and fixed the problem completely. So be aware, that lightening bolt can also come on if it's in limp mode, even if there are no throttle body issues or accel pedal issues. It had a very vague code saying "coolant system performance". I just thought it was the throttle body again, since I had to replace it before with broken gears and it had a similar symptom. then I thought it could be the accel pedal- but, I got thrown on a wild goose chase about the accelerator pedal. There are two sensors built into it and on Chryslers-- APP2 data pid in the scan tool will have a random drop in the data and look like it is dropping out. But I found out that it's actually a built in test that it does. It's very consistent if you check it with a scope, but the scantool is too slow and doesn't catch it a lot of times and so it looks like a random signal drop. I almost bought a computer over this... and an ECM repair guy I talked to said that he wouldn't be able to fix it... So he didn't even know that this is part of it's operation.. Anyway, just some thoughts on the lighting bolt and the rabbit hole it took me on. :)

Refrigeration guys use the real thing right there you need to cut the copper tube to you preference no need for a lathe...

Spectacularly bad idea on so many levels.

Poking the hole in the can makes a much stronger solder joint as it leaves the stretched metal around the hole giving the solder much greater surface area to adhere to. I think you "accidentally" positioned the valve in the perfect position for use. Its not in the way of your hand as a right handed user.

That’s a pretty good idea. I thought the solder iron mod was brilliant! I think only thing I would do differently is use dry nitrogen to charge the can. I happen to have that handy I know not everyone does tho. That may help mitigate any problems with moisture and bacteria in the can over time.

A hand pump spray bottles works as good if not better, lol

those thin wall cans will fail with the pressure cycling. I stick with the thick-walled refillable cans to lessen the likelihood of a can bursting. Do watch your pressures and keep them low to prevent bursting. Also, its best not to atomize these speays if it can be avoided--gets deep in your lungsand causes breathing problems long term, old school oilers are best unless it requires spraying for your particular application.

You would be better off to use a turkey basting needle to inject the WD40. Just suck it up in the syringe and needle and squirt it in.
